Topolino
Topolino is a conceptual makeup artist. He takes inspiration
from 'streets, nature, insects, space, fairies, circus, cartoons and life'. He
said that his style is "Trashy trendy, fantasy but chic". Topolino
doesn't have a specific technique; he says "it is more about imagination
than technique". I like the way he experiments with styles and lets his
imagination run wild.
I took inspiration from Topolino. I focused my look on my
models fears and phobias, taking inspiration from that. My models fear was
dying. So I created a skeleton to represent death. Click HERE to go to the
photo shoot.
I created this face chart to help me design my final look, I
wanted to make sure I had everything planned and organised for my shoot. This
face chart also helped me to work out what makeup I needed to use for this look;
I took inspiration from Topolino to create this makeup look, as I am interested
in his technique and unique style.
Pat McGrath
McGrath heightens the dramatic potential of makeup by using
focus and isolating dense blocks of colour. McGrath's innovation has created
different frameworks, facial contours and patterns, because her technique is
completely random. I used McGrath's technique to create my own look. I used
different blocks of colour and my technique was completely random.
This shoot was inspired by Pat McGrath.
I again created this face chart to help me design a look
based on Pat McGrath's style, as I am interested in taking inspiration from
different makeup artists.
I created this face chart to help me organise what I needed
for the photo shoot, this also helped me to design the makeup look.
Adam Burrell
Burrell is a London based makeup artist who works with many
different celebrities. He's currently working with Little Mix. I like Burrell's
style of work, he is very versatile. He does natural looks to editorial looks.
He inspired me to be creative and unique with my own work.
Adam Burrell inspired this shoot.
Burrell has inspired me to create this face chart based on my look for my response to Patrick Demarchelier's photograph of Twiggy. I explored the makeup trends for the era (1960's) that photograph was taken and adapted my response to fit the style and trends.
