Insecurity: Beauty Spots

I asked my model to tell me if she had any insecurities that she didn't mind sharing with me, and I also asked her why she uses makeup. She told me that her insecurity were her beauty spots and that she tries to use makeup to cover them up, but sometimes even makeup doesn't hide her insecurity. I decided to take a photograph of my model wearing a 'normal' amount of makeup and as you can see from the raw photography below, the makeup has not managed to cover up her beauty spots. I then went on to use Photoshop to edit them out. As you can see on the edited photograph she no longer has her beauty spots and by editing them it shows that no matter how much she tries to cover up with makeup, she can't and Photoshop is the only option.

I really like the lighting in this photograph and by having a black background it really makes her insecurity and fear stand out. My model also told me that she has a fear of small spaces and this photograph also represents her fear as well as insecurity. The darkness around her face and neck represents that she is trapped and that she can't get out/get away from her insecurity. The composition of this photograph is really eye catching because she is in the middle and her eyes are looking straight into the camera. This gives the photo depth and contour.
