Still Life Photography

For my final outcome piece I want to have a still life photograph to go with each of the fears and phobias. I want to explore still life photography as part of my development ideas.

Still Life photographers:

Tom Leighton- Leighton is a professional photographer specialising in children's fashion, food, still life, lifestyle & interiors.

Examples of his work:

Leighton likes to arrange his still life subject area into a balanced and distinctive pattern. He captures his photographs from a bird’s eye perspective most of the time, to enhance the features of his chosen subject area. He mostly uses a studio with lighting to help him create a bold atmosphere to capture his photographs in. I really like Leighton's style of still life photography; he has inspired me to try different techniques and angles whilst capturing my own still life compositions.

Mierswa-Kluska- Mierswa-Kluska creates still life photographs as well as their experimental range of photograph. I have already featured Mierswa-Kluska in my work, here. They have inspired me in my development and experimental work and they have also inspired me with their own still life photography.
Examples of their work can be found at this web address http://www.mierswa-kluska.de/portfolios/cosmetics their work requires permission to download/screen shot.
Their work has inspired me to be creative and unique when capturing still life subjects. They have experimented with different lightings and props to be able to come up with imaginative and inspirational pieces of work.

My own still life photography:
This photograph is to represent the fear of loosing/letting go of her childhood. I got two of my Disney toys and took a photograph of them using the studio.
This photograph is to represent the fear of growing old. I took this photograph of anti-aging products and makeup that help to cover up wrinkles, fine lines etc. I used the studio to take this photograph because I wanted to achieve a high quality finish like my still life photographer Tom Leighton.
This photograph is to represent fear of talking to people; I collected some mobile phones and a microphone to represent someone having to talk to people. I again used this studio to take this photograph.
This photograph represents the fear of the dark. I got some light bulbs and torches to represent light. I used the studio to take this photograph; I placed the objects onto a white piece of paper to create a clean, clear background.
This photograph represents the fear of loosing teeth. I got a toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash and false teeth to represent this. I used the studio to take this photograph; I placed the objects onto a white piece of paper to create a clean, clear background.
This photograph represents the fear of intimacy. I got some a lip balloon, love heart confetti etc. to represent this fear. I used the studio to take this photograph; I placed the objects onto a white piece of paper to create a clean, clear background.
This photograph represents the fear of small spaces; I got a group or people to stand in a lift to represent this fear.
This photograph represents the fear of dying. I placed bones onto a white sheet of paper to take the photograph to give a clean, plain background. I also used Tom Leighton's technique of taking this photograph from a birds eye view.
